Kerala cannabis valued over Rs. 203 Mn seized in Narivilikkulam, Mannar
A search operation conducted by the Navy with the assistance of the Police in the Narivilikkulam beach area of Mannar on 02 and 03 Sep 25 resulted in the seizure of a massive haul of Kerala cannabis weighing more than 906kg.
The search operation was mounted by naval personnel of SLNS Pussadeva in the North Central Naval Command in coordination with the Police Special Branch, Mannar in the beach vicinity of Narivilikkulam. The search led to the recovery of 398 suspicious parcels stuffed with Kerala cannabis weighing over 906kg.
It is believed that smugglers would have abandoned the stash of Kerala cannabis, due to heightened coastal surveillance by the Navy in the area. Meanwhile, the gross street value of the stock of Kerala cannabis held in this operation is believed to exceed Rs. 203 million.
The stock of Kerala cannabis was handed over to the Murukkan Police, Mannar for onward legal action.
