Kerala cannabis valued over Rs. 07 million seized in northern waters

A search operation conducted by the Navy in the sea area of Mamunei on 05 Sep 25 resulted in the seizure of more than 33kg (wet weight) of Kerala cannabis.

The operation was conducted by the Naval Deployment of Veththalakerni in the Mamunei sea area where a sack containing narcotic substance, weighing over 33kg (wet weight), was recovered.

Meanwhile, the consignment of cannabis, believed to have been abandoned by smugglers due to increased naval surveillance in the area, is estimated to have a street value exceeding Rs. 07 million.

The stock of Kerala cannabis was handed over to the Marudankerni Police for onward legal action.
