Navy assists flood-hit communities with urgent assistance

In response to the severe weather conditions, the Navy has mobilized its relief teams to assist those affected by floods in the Thawalama and Nagoda areas of the Galle District. Since 22 Nov 25, these relief teams have been engaged in ongoing operations, utilizing small boats to safely rescue flood-affected individuals and cater to their daily necessities.

Accordingly, the Southern Naval Command deployed 02 Navy flood relief teams in the Thawalama and Nagoda areas to offer relief to the affected communities in those localities.

Moreover, the Navy's prompt action also guaranteed that students could reach their G.C.E. A/L exam venues safely and without disruption.
