Navy evacuates 37 individuals from landslide in Unuwinna, Hanguranketha

The Sri Lanka Navy relief teams successfully evacuated thirty-seven (37) individuals trapped by a landslide in the Unuwinna area of Maoya - Kosgalanda, Hanguranketha on 27 Nov 25.

The collapse of an earth mound had blocked the only road to the Unuwinna village in Maoya, stranding seventeen (17) families. The Navy relief team, assisted by local residents, safely guided all individuals, including eighteen (18) children, to secure locations.
