Navy's swift action saves 02 fishermen from capsized fishing boat
The Sri Lanka Navy rescued two (02) fishermen from a capsized fishing boat in Trincomalee Inner Harbour on 15 Dec 25, during a rescue operation prompted by adverse weather conditions.
Amid high winds and rough seas in the area, this canoe-type fishing boat (NTBR-A-2170-TCO) had capsized, placing the lives of its two fishermen in danger. Acting swiftly, naval personnel from SLNS Mahaweli launched the rescue mission.
The operation safely recovered both fishermen from the distressed craft. Following the rescue, the Navy brought the fishermen and their boat to the Madcove Jetty, Trincomalee.
