A suspect nabbed with 02kg of foreign-origin cannabis in Maradankerni

The Sri Lanka Navy, in coordination with the Police Special Task Force (STF), apprehended one (01) suspect in possession of approximately two (02) kg of foreign cannabis during a search operation conducted in the Maradankerni area of Jaffna on 09 Jan 26.

The operation was mounted by Naval Detachment Point Pedro in the Northern Naval Command, with the assistance of Nelliadi STF. Subsequent search of the suspect led to the recovery of 02kg of foreign-origin cannabis in his possession.

The suspect was identified as a 19-year-old resident of Championpaththu area Jaffna. The suspect together with the stash of cannabis was handed over to the Nelliadi STF for onward legal action.
