Effective collaboration helps prevent fire disaster at Hambantota dump site

The Sri Lanka Navy assisted in extinguishing a sudden fire that broke out at the dump site of the Hambantota Municipal Council on 23 Jan 26.

Acting swiftly upon information received, the Southern Naval Command mobilized a Navy firefighting team and a water bowser from SLNS Kawantissa. The naval personnel worked in coordination with the firefighting teams from the Hambantota and Tangalle Municipal Councils to combat the blaze.

Through determined effort, the combined team successfully brought the fire under control and extinguished it, preventing further damage to the site.
