The Sri Lanka Navy and Coast Guard intercepted 04 Indian trawlers poaching in Sri Lankan waters and apprehended 21 Indian fishermen, during a special operation conducted off the Delft Island on 09th October 2024.

A search operation conducted by the Navy and Police Special Task Force (STF) led to the arrest of a suspect (01) with about six hundred thousand (600,000) capsules of prescription drugs which were being transferred to sell. The coordinated operation, which also resulted in the seizure of a lorry used to peddle drugs, was mounted in the Borella area on 09th October 2024.

A search operation conducted by the Navy in the beach vicinity of Nilaveli, Trincomalee on 07th October 2024 , resulted in the arrest of 02 suspects and seized 01 dinghy and about 1084kg of fish, suspected to be caught using commercial explosives.

In a coordinated operation by the Sri Lanka Navy and Police Special Task Force (STF), a suspect was arrested with 2020 foreign cigarettes being carried in a bus. The raid took place in Karuwalagaswewa of Puttalam, on 05th October 2024.

In separate operations by the Sri Lanka Navy, Police and Police STF, 02 suspects (a man and a woman) were arrested with 1500 foreign cigarettes prepared for sale. The raids took place in Hettiyawaththa, Colombo and Pesalai, Talaimannar on 03rd October 2024.

In a coordinated operation by the Sri Lanka Navy and Central Divisional Crime Detective Bureau of Colombo, a suspect was arrested with 1400 foreign cigarettes prepared for sale. The raid took place around the Port City, Colombo on 02nd October 2024.

In a coordinated operation by the Sri Lanka Navy and Police Special Task Force (STF), a suspect was arrested with 2,200 foreign cigarettes prepared for sale at a retail shop. The raid took place in Balaluwewa, Kekirawa, on 30th September 2024.

The Sri Lanka Navy seized 02 Indian fishing boats and apprehend 17 Indian fishermen while they were poaching in Sri Lankan waters, during a special operation conducted in the sea area north of Mannar this morning (29th September 2024).

The Sri Lanka Navy apprehended 25 persons for their involvement in illegal fishing using unauthorized nets, during search operations conducted in the sea areas of Trincomalee on 28th September 2024. The operation also resulted in the seizure of 05 dinghies and unauthorized fishing gear.

The Navy found a dinghy (01) loaded with about 400kg of smuggled Tendu leaves, during a search operation conducted in the Basiyawaththa area of Negombo lagoon on 25th September 2024.
