Injured tusker calf receives treatment with Navy support
An injured tusker calf found separated from its herd in the Thibbatuwewa area of Mahawa received medical treatment with the support of the Navy on 16 August 2026.
Naval personnel, together with the Sri Lanka Army, Air Force and Police, assisted officials of the Department of Wildlife Conservation in providing the medical support required to treat the injured calf.
Reinforcing its commitment to environmental stewardship, the Navy continues to work alongside relevant state agencies to support the conservation of wildlife and biodiversity.
