Navy assists conduct of Shiva Pooja at Thirukedeshwaran temple in Mannar

Hindu devotees all over the world celebrated Maha Shiva Rathree Pooja on grand scale yesterday (04th March) and the Hindu devotees in Mannar area engaged in religious activities at the Thirukedishwaran Kovil. A large number of Hindu devotees in Mannar area participated in this Pooja.

Further, a naval lifesaving team was deployed at the place where devotees do the rituals of traditional bathing, as a precautionary measure. A naval diving team and naval personnel of Rapid Response Rescue and Relief (4RU) unit attached to the North Central Naval Command were engaged to facilitate the devotees. The Navy’s assistance for the successful conduct of Shiva Rathree Pooja, was highly praised by the chief prelate and the devotees. By extending assistance to religious activities of different faiths, the Navy helps achieve true reconciliation and religious harmony among ethnicities.
