Naval troops attached to SLNS Barana of the North Western Naval Command with assistance of Wild Life Officers in the area on information received apprehended a load of Palu timber in the general area of Mullikulam in Mannar on 31st July 2014.

Naval Craft attached to the Northern Naval Command on routine patrol arrested 50 Indian fishermen and 07 Indian fishing trawlers poaching well within Sri Lankan waters North of Point Pedro (PPD) and Kovilam bay area on 28th July 2014.
