           Sri Lanka Navy assisted the repatriation of 33 Indian fishermen. They were handed over to the Indian Coast Guard Ship “Rajkamal” in the seas off Mannar on 05thJune 2014.

Navy arrests 18 fishermen engaged in illegal fishing
 
               
           Naval troops attached to Naval Deployment Nayaru of the Eastern Naval Command arrested 18 fishermen and 04 FGDs engaged in illegal fishing using prohibited fishing gears 04 NM East of Kukkuthuduwai, Mullativu on 04th June 2014.

Navy rescues 334 persons from floods
 
               
           Naval personnel deployed on rescue operations in the flood affected areas were able to save the lives of 334 persons. 229 persons were rescued in Pelawatte, 12 persons in Kudaligama, 45 persons in Palinda Nuwara and 5 persons in Miriswatta.

Navy rescues 122 persons from floods
 
               
           Naval personnel deployed on rescue operations in the flood affected areas were able to save the lives of 122 persons. Eighty six (86) persons were rescued in Pelawatte, 12 persons in Kudaligama and 05 persons in Miriswatta.

           Sri Lanka Navy rescued an Indian fishing trawler in distress in the Sri Lankan waters 11 nautical miles north-west of Thalai-mannar on 01st June 2014.

Navy deployed on Flood Relief Duties in Kalutara District
 
               
           In response to the floods affecting the several areas in the Kalutara district due to the prevailing adverse weather condition, Sri Lanka Navy has deployed its Rapid Response Rescue and Release Squadron personnel on flood relief duties to render assistance to the people affected.

           Naval Craft attached to the North Central Naval Command on routine patrol arrested 29 Indian fishermen and 06 Indian fishing trawlers poaching in Sri Lankan waters North West of Thalaimannar on 01st June 2014.
