Naval troops attached to SLNS Vijaya in Kalpitiya of the North Western Naval Command, on information received, arrested 09 persons with 1341 kilograms of dry sea cucumbers along with 02 FGDs, 01 Tata Dimo Batta truck and 02 Bajaj three wheelers in the Thoreiadi area in Kalpitiya on 29th June 2015.

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Barana in Mullikulam and Therapuththa in Silawathura of the North Western Naval Command on information received arrested two persons with approximately 590 kilograms of shark fins whilst transferring in the seas off Kondachchikuda in the early hours of 11th June 2015.

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Walagamba of the Eastern Naval Command arrested 06 persons on the suspicion of illegal fishing in two separate incidents on 09th and 10th June 2015.
