SLN facilitates exchange of 2nd batch of released fishermen
Sri Lanka Navy assisted in the exchange of the second batch of Indian and Sri Lanka fishermen released in accordance with the discussions between the two governments. Seventy-one Indian fishermen with fifteen fishing boats were handed over to the Indian Coast Guard Ship “Samudra Paharedar” at the International Maritime Boundary Line off Kankasanthurei on 24th January 2014.

Naval Troops Apprehend 02 Persons With 75 Kilograms Of Gelignite
Naval troops attached to SLNS Thambapanni of the North Western Naval Command on information received arrested 02 persons with a haul of explosive devices including 510 sticks of Gelignite weighing 75 kilograms in the general area Anamaduwa-Paramakandagama on 21st January 2014.

SLN Arrests 25 Indian Fishermen Poaching In Sri Lankan Waters
Naval vessels attached to the Northern Naval Command on routine patrol arrested 25 Indian fishermen and 06 Indian fishing trawlers engaged in bottom trawling in the seas off Delft on 20th January 2014.
