Naval personnel attached to SLNS Thambapanni of the North Western Naval Command with the assistance of Puttalam Police arrested two persons with 5 kilograms of cannabis (Kerala Ganja) in the general area of Mangalaeliya in Puttalam on 09th June 2015.

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Kanchadewa of the Northern Naval Command on information received arrested 08 persons with 286 Beche-der-mer in the general area of Thuraiur in Jaffna on 02nd June 2015.

Sri Lanka Navy arrested 14 Indian fishermen along with 03 Indian fishing trawlers poaching in Sri Lankan waters in the seas North of Thalaimannar on 01st June 2015.

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Mahanaga in Panama of the South Eastern Naval Command arrested 43 persons with 04 one-day fishing trawlers and 01 Fiber Glass Dinghy (FGD) on the suspicion of their engagement in illegal fishing in the general area of Kalmunai on 31st May 2015.

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Kashyapa of the Eastern Naval Command arrested 05 persons with 02 FGDs on the suspicion of their engagement in illegal fishing in the general area of Kalkuda on 23rd May 2015.

Sri Lanka Navy assisted in the repatriation of Sixteen (16) Sri Lankan fishermen, who were released from the Indian custody.

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Gajaba of the North Central Naval Command arrested 03 persons with an FGD, 800 grams of Gelignite (08 sticks), 02 pairs of diving fins, 02 pair of diving goggles and 08 non-electric detonators intended to be used in illegal fishing in the seas off South of Mannar on 30th April 2015.

The Sri Lanka Navy facilitated the handing over of 14 Indian fishing trawlers, which had been released by the court, to Indian Coast Guard Ship ‘ANAGH’ at the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) north of Delft on 30th April 2015.

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Buwaneka of the North Central Naval Command arrested 05 persons with an FGD on the suspicion of their engagement in illegal fishing in the seas off Thalaimannar in Mannar on 29th April 2015.

The Sri Lanka Navy facilitated to handover 16 Indian fishing trawlers which had been released by the court, and remaining Sri Lanka until the owners of the trawlers make arrangements to take them back to India.
