Members of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit visit the National Institute of Mental Health in Mulleriyawa
 

As part of yet another community service campaign of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), the President of NSVU, Mrs. Yamuna Wijegunaratne along with its members took time off to visit and spend time with the patients who are undergoing treatment at ward No-7 at National Institute of Mental Health in Mulleriyawa today (3).

Having carried out repair work to the defective areas of the ward, the Members of NSVU also offered the patients with a delicious and nutritious lunch. Further, under the patronage of the President, the patients were also gifted with a set of clothing items produced by the Seva Vanitha Sewing Centre and some porcelain products. Moreover, the women sailors attached to Seva Vanitha beauty parlor at SLNS Gemunu, also joined this meritorious cause by giving haircuts to the poor patients who are undergoing treatments.

On completion of the series of events, as per another brilliant concept of Mrs. Wijegunaratne the women sailors of the Navy Band made the patients entertained with their melodious singing. This session was thoroughly enjoyed by all the patients and the initiative received high praise from the hospital staff. Subsequently, the President of NSVU distributed prizes among the Director of National Institute of Mental Health in Mulleriyawa and hospital staff, in recognition of their untiring effort in taking care of the poor patients. In return, the hospital staff extended their heartfelt gratitude for the President of NSVU, Mrs. Yamuna Wijegunaratne and all its members for organizing this event on a high note. The occasion was attended by NSVU members, officers and a group of sailors as well.
