Foundation stone laid for the new building of Yoghurt Project at SLNS Pandukabhya
 

The foundation stone for new building of the Yoghurt Project at SLNS Pandukabhya in Poonawa, was laid by the honourable President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Sandhya Ranasinghe, at the project premises on 15th July.

Following the traditional customs, the President of NSVU laid the foundation stone on the auspicious time after Buddhist religious observances. This occasion was attended by Deputy Area Commander of North Central Naval Command, Commodore Priyantha Perera, NOIC (Poonawa) and Commandant SLNS Shiksha Captain Asoka Wijesiriwardena, Commanding Officer SLNS Pandukabhya Captain Sumithra Fonseka and a host of officers and sailors of North Central Naval Command including officers/sailors attached to the Seva Vanitha Unit. The President SVU also took time off to share a light moment with the woman sailors attended the event.

Further, the President SVU paid an observation visit to the building in which the project is presently being carried out and to the Seva Vanitha Welfare Shop. Later on, she worshiped the Issinbassagala Rajamaha Viharaya in Poonawa and received the blessings from the Chief Incumbent and the Upa Pradana Adikarana Sanganayake of Northern and Nuwaragam Provinces of Shamopalee Maha Nikaya of Malwathu Chapter Ven. Dr. Saddhrma Keerthi Sri Gunarathana Kadawathgama Piyarathana Nayaka Thero.
