Seva Vanitha conducts series of programme in view of celebrating World Children’s Day and Elders’ Day
 

On concurrent with the World Children’s Day and Elders’ Day which fell on 1st of October, Seva Vanitha Unit of the Sri Lanka Navy conducted a series of programme, under the guidance of its president Mrs. Sandhya Ranasinghe.

Accordingly, members of NSVU with their president Mrs Sandhya Ranasinghe visited the children and elders resided at Grace Perera Elders Home in Kalubowila and treated them with delicious and nutritious tea party. The residents were donated essential items too. Vice president of NSVU Mrs. Arundathi Jayanthi, senior and junior members of NSVU, the secretary of NSVU, number of officers and sailors were also present on this occasion.

Further, on the directives of honourable president of NSVU, World Children’s Day celebrations were held in the naval pre schools too. A number of various programmes were carried out for the children of pre schools established in the premises of SLNS Tissa, SLNS Dakshina and SLNS Gemunu. During these activities, aesthetic sense of small children in the forms of singing, dancing and arts were displayed. Along the programmes, all the kids participated were presented with prizes.
