Annual concert of Gemunu Preschool held in a colourful note
The annual concert of Gemunu Preschool which is operated under the patronage of Sri Lanka Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), organized under the guidance of honourable President of NSVU and supervision of Commander Western Naval Area with his spouse, was held at the Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake Auditorium of SLNS Parakrama on last 26th November 2018. This colourful event was graced by a former President of NSVU Mrs. Malathie Samarasinghe and a former Commander of the Navy, Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe as the Chief Guests.
The concert which commenced right after the lighting of the traditional oil lamp included wide-ranging items of singing, dancing and music presented by the preschool children. The crowd gathered at the Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake Auditorium to witness the talents of the little children were thrilled over the performances of the kids and appreciated them. Subsequently, the chief guests former President of NSVU Mrs. Malathie Samarasinghe and former Commander of the Navy Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe and the invited guests presented gifts to the preschool children for taking part in the concert and gave away gift vouchers to the teachers and assistants of the preschool in recognition of their contributions. In appreciation of their graceful presence at the event, former President of NSVU Mrs. Malathie Samarasinghe was presented a memento by the President of NSVU Mrs. Sandhya Ranasinghe while former Commander of the Navy Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe was presented a memento by the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe. Further, chief guest former President of NSVU Mrs. Malathie Samarasinghe was also presented a special memento created by the preschool kids.
The event was also attended by Flag Rank officers, senior and junior officers from the Western Naval Command, officers attached to the NSVU, preschool teachers, children and their parents.
