NSVU organized Christmas Carol Service held on high note
 

The Christmas Carol Service organized by the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), leading up to this year’s Christmas festival, was held at the Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake Auditorium of SLNS Parakrama on 19th December 2018.

Admiral Deshamanya DB Gunasekara who is a former Commander of the Navy, along with Madam Clara Gunasekara graced this colourful event as the Chief Guest. The occasion turned out to be a very flamboyant one with the singing and performances of NSVU members, children, singers and instrument players of the SL Navy band. The successful conduct of the musical programme was praised by all attendees including the NSVU President. In recognition of their contributions made for the perfect execution of the programme, the singing choir, instrument players, NSVU members and children were presented special prizes by Mrs. Ranasinghe.

Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe, the President of the NSVU Mrs. Sandya Ranasinghe, the President Naval Christian Association Rear Admiral Meril Wickramasinghe, officials and members of Naval Christian Association, Director Generals of Navy, officers of Western Naval Command, senior members of the NSVU and a large number of sailors were also present on this occasion.

Further, the chief guest, former Commander of the Navy, Admiral Deshamanya DB Gunasekara and Madam Clara Gunasekara were presented with mementos by the President NSVU and the Commander of the Navy.
