New NSVU President warmly welcomed by fellow members
A function to welcome the new President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs. JK Arundathi Udithamala Jayaneththi was held on a ceremonial note, at the Wardroom premises of the Naval Headquarters yesterday (04th January).
The newly appointed NSVU President was warmly welcomed to the occasion presenting her a bouquet of flowers by the Vice President of the organization, Mrs. Champi Ranasinghe. Subsequently, the incumbent President was accompanied amidst traditional beating of ‘Magul Bera’ and ‘Wes Dance’ and the proceedings of the ceremony kicked off after lighting the traditional oil lamp.
The event was made more colourful by the performances of the naval dancing troupe. After cutting a cake to relish this special occasion, along with members of the organization, the NSVU President addressed the gathering. Members of the NSVU, its Secretary and the staff were also present on this occasion.
