Foundation stone laid for construction of a new house for the family of a Naval War Hero
According to a concept of the Commander of the Navy and under the guidance of President Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, the executive committee of the NSVU has approved the construction of a new house, in response to a request forwarded by the wife of Able Seaman BKWK Kudahetti XD 30136 who died on 24th May 2005 while on active service attached to SLNS Dakshina, empowering the future life of his wife and the daughter.
Making their dream a reality, the foundation stone for the new house was laid at No 69, 5th Lane, Aruppola, Kandy at the auspicious time of 11.44 on 30th May 2019 by Mrs.Priya Luxmeen Hewawasam, the wife of late Able Seaman BKWK Kudahetti and Mrs. Shelani de Silva, the spouse of the Aide and Personal Secretary to the Commander of the Navy.
The Commanding Officer of SLNS Shilpa, Security Officer, Civil Engineering Officer with staff and Lady Officers of NSVU were also present on this occasion.
