Another welfare programme of NSVU held at Naval Headquarters
Under the directives of the President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), several programmes with fun filled activities were conducted for the children of Naval Preschools at SLNS Gemunu, SLNS Tissa and SLNS Dakshina to coincide with the world children's day which fell on 01st October 2019.
Yet another welfare programme of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU) was held under the patronage of the NSVU President, Mrs. Arundathi Udithamala Jayaneththi at the Naval Headquarters today (11th October).
Following an idea mooted by the NSVU President, this event had been organized to distribute welfare benefits among the family members of naval personnel, utilizing funds raised by the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit. Accordingly, dairy products for children with special need, inflatable mattresses, computers, hearing aids, stationary items, sewing machines, colour printers and TVs were distributed at this event.
Vice President of the NSVU, Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne, members of the NSVU, Director Naval Welfare, Commodore Senarath Wijesooriya, Naval Assistant to Commander of the Navy, Commodore Dhammika Kumara, officers, beneficiaries and staff members of the NSVU were also present on this occasion.
