“The Anchorage” constructed with NSVU funds declared open

“The Anchorage” which was constructed with the funds provided by Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, for the welfare of Naval War Heroes who were disabled during the active service in the Navy, was declared opened on 11th July 2020.

The foundation stone for the proposed “ Anchorage” (Abimansala) for the heroic naval personnel who were disabled in the active service during the humanitarian operations, was laid on 10th August 2019.For construction of this center Rs. 10 million was allocated by the NSVU and having completed the construction work by the Naval Civil Engineering Department, the center was declared open by the Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva on 11th July 2020. The two storeyed building is consists of 08 cabins which are fully furnished with bathrooms etc.

Further, paralleled to this opening, another two buildings constructed in SLNS Lanka and in SLNS Mahasen were also declared open by Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva.

Hon. President of NSVU Mrs. Arundathie Udithamala Jayanetti, Director Generals of the Navy, Commander Western Naval Area, other officers and sailors were also present on this occasion.
