Following an idea mooted by the President Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), several social responsibility initiatives were set in motion, with the provision a wheel chair and a laptop computer. Accordingly, provision of a wheel chair to the ailing father of serving Fleet Chief Petty Officer JBS Sanjeewa ED 33240 and handing over of a laptop computer for the educational needs of 03 children of late Petty Officer PYS Sumanasiri SW 30189 were held under the patronage of the President NSVU, Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne at the Light House Galley today (12^th May 2021). These aids were made available after listing to the requests of Fleet Chief Petty Officer JBS Sanjeewa and the wife of late Petty Officer who died untimely while serving at SLNS Nipuna.

Going by a concept of the President Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), 03 High Dependency Unit / Intensive Care Unit (HDU / ICU) beds, made available by NSVU funds, were handed over for the benefit of mothers receiving treatment for COVID-19 at the Special Maternity Unit of the Colombo East Base Hospital, Mulleriyawa. Accordingly, the NSVU President, Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne handed over these 03 beds to Dr. Priyantha Karunaratne, Director Colombo East Base Hospital, at the Light House Galley today (12^th May 2021).
