Seva Vanitha sponsored RO plant declared open in Karuwalagaswewa, Puttalam
The Reverse Osmosis plant installed at the Rajavigama Siri Sambuddha Galapitagala Temple in Karuwalagaswewa, Puttalam was declared open under the patronage of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne and the President Navy Seva Vanitha Unit (NSVU), Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne on 09th October 2021. As part of its social responsibility initiative, the NSVU sponsored for this project which was carried out using able manpower of the Navy. At the request of the Deputy Chief Sanghanayake of the North Central Province, Ven. Panvila Gunarathana Nayaka Thero, the facility was made available at the temple by the Navy, for the benefit of community in surrounding villages.
The event was held in compliance with COVID-19 protocols for the prevention of pandemic transmission. Commander Northwestern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jayantha Kularathne, Executive Committee Member NSVU, Mrs. Udeni Kularathne, Senior Coordinator Naval Social Responsibility project, Captain WLN Gunasekara, Commanding Officer SLNS Thambapanni, Commander AM Abeysinghe, senior naval officers, Officer in Charge Karuwalagaswewa Police, Divisional Secretary of Karuwalagaswewa, staff of NSVU and a limited group of individuals were present on this occasion.
