Able Seaman SMASM Subasinghe of Navy wins gold medal in 400m at Dubai Grand Prix 2023 -14th Fazza International Para Athletics Championship

Able Seaman SMASM Subasinghe, a Para athlete of the Sri Lanka Navy, won a gold medal in A47 category men's 400m at Dubai Grand Prix 2023 -14th Fazza International Para Athletics Championship held from 26th to 01st March 2023.

Four (04) Sri Lankan Para athletes participated in the Dubai Grand Prix 2023 -14th Fazza International Para Athletics Championship and won 02 gold medals, 01 silver medal and 01 bronze medal.

In A47 category men's 400m, Able Seaman SMASM Subasinghe emerged champion clocking 50.89 sec. He also finished the 100m event in 11.71sec becoming the 04th.

Able Seaman SMASM Subasinghe remains the defending national champion of A47 400M, from 2017. At the Asian Para Games - 2018 in Jakarta, Indonesia he became the 04th in 400m. In both Dubai Grand Prix 2021 Para Athletics Championship and Indian Open National Para Athletics Championship 2022 he won the second place, bringing much credit to the Navy and motherland.
