Navy Canoe and Kayak team holds Kayak training session at Talaimannar sea

The Navy Canoe and Kayak team today (23rd March 2024) conducted a Kayak training session at Talaimannar sea. This training aimed to prepare for the upcoming Indo-Sri Lanka Annual Canoeing Sprint 2024, the first of its kind competition, with full support from the Sri Lanka Navy. The event, co-hosted by the National Association of Canoeing and Kayak Sri Lanka (NACKSL) and Indian Kayaking and Canoeing Association (IKCA), will be held on 10th and 11th April 2024 from Talaimannar to Dhanushkodi, India.

The training session served to familiarize the Navy Kayak team with the sea's conditions and wind speeds up to Sand Dune VII, beyond Talaimannar, one of the tournament's venues. This preparation was essential to acclimatize the team to the environmental challenges they will face during the tournament.
