Inaugural Talaimannar-Dhanushkodi Adams bridge paddle challenge to get underway

The inaugural Adams bridge paddle challenge from Talaimannar, Sri Lanka to Dhanushkodi, India is scheduled to be held on 10th and 11th April 2024. The event organized by the Ministry of Sports, National Association of Canoeing and Kayak Sri Lanka and Indian Kayaking and Canoeing Association, will be facilitated by the Sri Lanka Navy.

The opening ceremony of the event will be held at the Talaimannar beach vicinity in the evening of 10th April. Thereupon, the sea kayak race from Talaimannar to Dhanushkodi is expected to get underway in the morning of 11th April. This event particularly aims to boost tourism in the Mannar and Talaimannar regions.

Representing Sri Lanka, 31 athletes from National Association of Canoeing, Kayak Sri Lanka , Jade High School Kayaking Club, Bolgoda Lake Rowing Club, Adventure SEALs and Gateway College will take part in the competition. In the same vein, about 50 players from Indian Kayaking and Canoeing Association will compete in the competition.
