The ‘Commandant’s Cup Sailing Regatta - 2024’ organized for the fourth time by the Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA), Trincomalee concluded on a successful note today (21st August 2024). Commenced on 18th August, the Sailing Regatta was held in the alluring waters of Sandy Bay over four days. At the invitation of Commandant NMA, Commodore Rohan Joseph the prize awarding ceremony of the competition, held at Sandy Bay, was graced by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera.

The Navy secured the runner up title in Negombo International Rating Chess Championship 2024. The international rating chess championship hosted for the eighth time by the District Chess Association – Gampaha, was held at the Wet Water Resort, Ja-Ela from 15th to 19th August 2024.
