Navy's finest paddlers compete in Inter-Command Table Tennis Championship
The Sri Lanka Navy's table tennis paddlers battled for supremacy at the thrilling Inter-Command Table Tennis Championship-2025. From 12 to 15 Aug 25, the Commander Parakrama Samaraweera Memorial Indoor Sports Complex echoed with intense games as sixteen teams (09 men’s and 07 women’s) vied for the championship.
The North Central Naval Command powered their way to claim the coveted men's title, while the Western Naval Command's women's team solidified their legacy, smashing the competition to secure a historic eighth consecutive championship win.
The final day of the tournament was presided over by the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Navy and Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Chandima Silva as the Chief Guest.
Meanwhile, the Western Naval Command secured the runner-up slot in men’s category and the Training Naval Command was named the women's runners-up. The award for Best Emerging Player was presented to Ordinary Seaman SRM Senaviratne of the Northern Naval Command.
