Navy Wushu athletes earn top honours at 19th National Wushu Championship

The 19th National Wushu Championship, hosted at the Wathupitiwala Indoor Stadium from 30 Jan to 01 Feb 26, concluded with an exceptional display of performance from Sri Lanka Navy Wushu athletes.

A group of twenty-five (25) Navy players competed with distinction across events of the competition. Demonstrating precision and artistry in the “Taolu” segment, Navy athletes secured victory in nine out of ten events. Their performance yielded an impressive medal haul of nine (09) gold, two (02) silver, and two (02) bronze medals.

The team carried this formidable momentum into the “Sanda” competition. Competing across eleven weight classes, Navy athletes exhibited exceptional combat prowess, earning six (06) gold, six (06) silver, and two (02) bronze medals.
