The 12th Defence Services Netball Championship, hosted by the Sri Lanka Navy, was held at the Commander Parakrama Samaraweera Memorial Indoor Sports Complex in Welisara from 01st to 03rd March 2023. In this tournament, the netball team of the Sri Lanka Navy clinched the championship, edging out their Army and Air Force counterparts.

Able Seaman SMASM Subasinghe, a Para athlete of the Sri Lanka Navy, won a gold medal in A47 category men's 400m at Dubai Grand Prix 2023 -14th Fazza International Para Athletics Championship held from 26th to 01st March 2023.

In a thrilling encounter between two top-tier rugby teams, Navy Sports Club (SC) emerged as the victors in the second semi-final of the Clifford Cup knockout tournament on 02nd March 2023. The game, which was played at the Racecourse Ground, Colombo, saw both teams put up a valiant effort, but it was Navy who ultimately claimed the win 16-13. With the win, the Navy was through to the final of the tournament.

The National Wrestling Championship, organised by the Wrestling Federation of Sri Lanka, was held at the indoor stadium of Torrington, Colombo on 18th and 19th February 2023. Exhibiting superlative performance in the tournament, the Navy men’s wrestling team clinched the championship title for the 20th consecutive time.

The International Military Sport Council (CISM) Day Run was flagged off under the patronage of Defence Secretary General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) in Colombo today (18th February 2022). Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera also attended the CISM Day Run - 2023.

The women’s team of Sri Lanka Navy on 17th February 2023 clinched the runner-up title in the final of 4th CISM World Military Beach Volleyball Championship – 2023. The championship hosted by Sri Lanka this year was held at the Negombo Beach.

The Navy men’s cycling team won the runner-up title in Speed Arrows Cycling Championship – 2023 held in Moratuwa on 12th February 2023.

The finals of Inter-Command Athletic Championship – 2023 came to a thrilling conclusion on 11th and 12th February 2023 in the Northern Naval Command, with champions crowned in a series of exciting and highly competitive events. The men’s championship of the competition was won by the Western Naval Command and the women’s championship was secured by the Training Command.

The women ruggerites of Sri Lanka Navy put on a dominant display of power and skill as they defeated CR & FC (34-0) in another encounter of the Nippon Women’s 10-A-Side Rugby League, worked off at the Race Course Ground, Colombo on 11th February 2023.

The marathon event of the Inter-Command Athletic Championship 2023 successfully concluded in the Northern Naval Command on 06th February 2023. The finals of the Inter-Command Athletic Championship are scheduled to be held in the Northern Naval Command on 11th and 12th February.
