Navy’s Leading Engineering Mechanic RP Saman Kumara Siriwardana receives certificate for his record setting walk of 586.1km
The Sri Lanka Navy’s Leading Engineering Mechanic RP Saman Kumara Siriwardana on 19th January 2024 set a new world record completing a challenging 586.1-kilometer walk. The epic walk spanned a total of 07 days, 11 hours, 17 minutes, and 14 seconds, encompassing the journey from Poonewa to the Independence Square, Colombo and back to Poonewa. The athlete received his certificate and the award in this regard at the Institute of Sports Medicine, Colombo on 18th May 2024.

Inter Command Musketry Championship 2024 concludes in North Central Naval Command
The Inter Command Musketry Championship 2024 was held at the firing range of SLNS Shiksha from 15th to 17th May 2024. At the invitation of Chairman Sri Lanka Navy Musketry, Commodore Nishan Ranaweera the final day of the competition was graced by Commander North Central Naval Area Rear Admiral Damian Fernando, as the Chief Guest.

Navy becomes runner-up in National Baseball Super League 2024
The Sri Lanka Navy won the men's runner-up title in the National Baseball Super League 2024 organized by the Sri Lanka Baseball Association. The tournament was held at Japan Sri Lanka Friendship Baseball Ground, Diyagama on 10th and 11th May 2024.

The men’s and women’s karate teams of the Sri Lanka Navy won 04 gold medals, 03 silver medals and 09 bronze medals in the National Karate Championship 2024, held at the Bandaragama Indoor Stadium from 27th to 29th April 2024.

Inter Command Triathlon Championship - 2024 concludes
The Inter Command Triathlon Championship - 2024 was held at the Naval Dockyard and Sandy Bay beach in Trincomalee on 27th and 28th April 2024. The event was graced by the Commandant Naval & Maritime Academy and the Deputy Area Commander Eastern Naval Area, Commodore Buddhika Liyanagamege, as the Chief Guest. The Eastern Naval Command secured victory in the men's championship of the tournament, while the Training Command emerged victorious in the women's championship.

Navy golfer Chalitha Pushpika wins J.R. Jayewardene Trophy in 63rd National Amateur Golf Championship, Pakistan
Representing Sri Lanka in the 63rd National Amateur Golf Championship in Pakistan, the Navy golfer Ordinary Seaman Chalitha Pushpika and Uchitha Ranasinghe from the Royal Colombo Golf Club teamed up to win the J.R. Jayewardene Trophy. The 63rd National Amateur Golf Championship was held at the Margalla Greens Golf Club in Islamabad, Pakistan from 18th to 21st April 2024.

Inaugural Talaimannar-Dhanushkodi Adam’s Bridge Paddle Challenge concludes on successful note
The inaugural Adam’s Bridge Paddle Challenge – a sea kayak race held from Talaimannar, Sri Lanka to Dhanushkodi, India came to a successful end on 11th April 2024. The event was organized by the Sri Lanka Navy in partnership with the Ministry of Sports, National Association of Canoeing and Kayak Sri Lanka and Indian Kayaking and Canoeing Association.
