Navy player part of Sri Lanka's bronze feat at Central Asian Volleyball Association men’s championship

Sri Lanka secured the bronze medal at the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) men’s championship 2026, held in Pakistan from 22 to 29 July, with a player of the Sri Lanka Navy contributing to the national team's success.

Representing the Sri Lanka Navy men's volleyball pool, Ordinary Seaman G. Thilagaraja was included in Sri Lanka's squad for the six-nation tournament. Sri Lanka clinched third place after defeating a strong Uzbekistan side 3-2 in the bronze medal match following a closely contested encounter.

Throughout the tournament, Ordinary Seaman G. Thilagaraja played as the libero for the Sri Lanka team and delivered consistent performances, making a valuable contribution to the country's podium finish.

Sri Lanka's bronze-medal achievement marked a notable result at the regional championship, while also highlighting the contribution of Sri Lanka Navy personnel to the nation's sporting success.
