The inaugural ceremony of the International Coastal Cleanup Day and National Marine Resources Conservation Week – 2020 organized by the Marine Environment Protection Authority (MEPA) was held under the patronage of Hon. Mahinda Rajapaksa, the Prime Minister of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. The event that got off the ground at Mount Lavinia Beach today (19th September 2020) was also attended by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne.
