UNODC official calls on Navy Commander

Ms. Siji Song, the Officer-in-Charge of the UNODC Programme Office in Sri Lanka, called on Vice Admiral Damian Fernando, the Commander of the Navy at the Navy Headquarters today, 18 August 2026.

Ms. Song also serves as the Regional Programme Coordinator in charge of the Eastern Indian Ocean region for UNODC’s Global Maritime Crime Programme (GMCP).

During the official meeting, several matters of bilateral importance concerning efforts to combat drug trafficking and other forms of maritime crime were discussed.

The meeting concluded with an exchange of mementoes between the two sides to mark the significance of the occasion.
