Deegamandala Primary School receives Navy-built RO plant

A Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant, established as part of the Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) project, was declared open at Deegamandala Primary School in Panama, Ampara on 10 July 2026.

The technical expertise and construction for the project were enabled by the Sri Lanka Navy, with financial support from Mrs. Bernadine De Silva, a resident of Kohuwala, through the Sirasa Media Network's 'Gammadda' community assistance initiative.

This installation brings the total number of RO plants completed by the Navy across the country to 1,158. The facility is expected to address long-standing clean water access issues for school children and residents in the surrounding area.

The Navy remains committed to supporting public health initiatives of this nature, continuing with this magnanimous project.
