New married quarters for junior sailors opened at Southeastern Naval Command

Three (3) newly constructed married quarters for junior sailors were declared open at SLNS Mahanaga of the Southeastern Naval Command on 29 July 2026.

The new accommodation, put up as part of the Sri Lanka Navy's ongoing efforts to enhance welfare facilities for its personnel, was declared open by the Commander Southeastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Nimal Ranasinghe.

The newly established housing units mark another milestone in the Navy's welfare initiatives, which place a strong emphasis on improving the living standards of naval personnel and their families.

The ooccasion was attended by the Deputy Area Commander Southeastern Naval Area, Commodore Viraj Mallawarachchi, along with a group of naval personnel attached to the Command.
