Rear Admiral HNS Perera takes over command of Southern Naval Area
Rear Admiral HNS Perera formally assumed the appointment of Commander Southern Naval Area today, 30 July 2026, at the Southern Command Headquarters.
The incoming Area Commander was received in keeping with time-honoured naval traditions, following which Rear Admiral Dammika Wijewardana formally handed over the duties and responsibilities of the appointment to Rear Admiral HNS Perera.
