Navy Commander reviews operational priorities in Southeastern Naval Command
The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda embarked on an official visit to the Southeastern Naval Command on 13 and 14 Jun 26. During the visit, he inspected the command’s ongoing operational, administrative, welfare and development activities and provided vital directives aimed at streamlining those processes.
Upon arrival, the Navy Commander was received by the Commander Southeastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Nimal Ranasinghe. Addressing the naval personnel of the Southeastern Naval Command at SLNS Mahanaga, the Commander articulated the Navy's operational priorities and strategic objectives, fostering a shared sense of mission and readiness among the crew.
Furthering inter-agency collaboration during his tour, the Navy Chief also met with the Assistant Directors of Fisheries for the Ampara and Batticaloa districts. Their discussions focused on curbing illegal fishing practices and guaranteeing a secure environment for law-abiding local fishermen in the southeastern waters.
