Commodore Chinthaka Wijedasa assumes duties as Acting Director General Health Services

Surgeon Commodore Chinthaka Wijedasa assumed duties as the Acting Director General Health Services (DGHS) of the Sri Lanka Navy at the Navy Headquarters today, 16 October 2026.

He formally took over duties and responsibilities of the appointment from Surgeon Rear Admiral Janaka Marambe, who previously served as DGHS.

Surgeon Commodore Wijedasa joined the Navy as a Direct-Entry officer in 1995 and was commissioned on 2 March that year. Before assuming his new appointment, the officer served as a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon at the Navy General Hospital in Colombo.
