Australian Defence College delegation visits Southern Naval Command Headquarters

A delegation from the Australian Defence College visited the Southern Naval Command Headquarters today, 10 September 2026.

The delegation, comprising student officers of the Defence Strategic Studies Course (DSSC), was led by Colonel Adam Geoffrey McGuinness, as part of an academic study tour in Sri Lanka.

During the visit, the delegation met with the Deputy Area Commander Southern Naval Area, Commodore Aruna Weerasinghe. Following cordial discussions between the members of the delegation and Deputy Area Commander, the visiting student officers attended a lecture, hosted at the command headquarters.
