Italian Ambassador to Sri Lanka meets Navy Commander
The Ambassador of Italy to Sri Lanka, H.E. Damiano Francovigh, met the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Damian Fernando, at Navy Headquarters today, 2 September 2026.
During the meeting, Ambassador Francovigh conveyed best wishes to Vice Admiral Fernando on assuming office as the 27th Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy. The two officials subsequently held cordial discussions on matters of mutual interest, including bilateral cooperation between Sri Lanka and Italy.
Signifying the importance of the occasion, the meeting concluded with an exchange of mementoes between the two sides.
