Navy’s expertise powers another step towards safe drinking water access to community

A new Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant, set up by the Sri Lanka Navy, was declared open for community use on 18 September 2026 at the village of Bulathwalkandura in Minipe, Kandy.

The project was made possible through the industrial expertise of the Sri Lanka Navy and initiatives of the Ministry of Health, with funding support from Lion Nation Foundation (Guarantee) Limited. The facility, which would provide clean drinking water to the local community, marked the 1,161st landmark of such plants established by the Navy across the country.

With this newly opened water RO plant, residents of Bulathwalkandura village can now easily access safe drinking water, a significant boost to community well-being.
