Rear Admiral Dammika Kumara retires as Vice Chancellor of KDU
Rear Admiral Dammika Kumara, the fifth (5th) Vice Chancellor of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU), retired from the appointment on, 1 September 2026.
Rear Admiral Kumara, who has more than three decades of distinguished service in the Sri Lanka Navy, was appointed Vice Chancellor of KDU on 1 September 2023. He served in the appointment for three (3) years before retiring from the post.
Following the conclusion of his tenure, the staff of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University extended their best wishes to Rear Admiral Kumara. He was also accorded a ceremonial guard of honour in accordance with military traditions.
