Regional maritime delegation visits Information Fusion Centre Colombo

Delegates from regional maritime operations centres and International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) visited the Information Fusion Centre Colombo on 14 and 15 September 2026 to deliberate on avenues for enhancing maritime information sharing.

The two-day visit focused on addressing common challenges in processing maritime data and developing practical approaches to improve information exchange. The delegation included three (3) representatives from the INTERPOL, two (2) from Regional Maritime Information Fusion Centre (RMIFC) Madagascar, two (2) from the Regional Coordination Operations Centre (RCOC) Seychelles and one (1) Coordination Officer from the National Central Bureau (NCB) Colombo

The programme provided an important platform for the participating organizations to share their experiences, identify common challenges and examine practical approaches to strengthening information-sharing mechanisms. The discussions also highlighted the importance of effective coordination and collaboration among maritime information fusion centres and law-enforcement agencies.
