Two RO Plants established by Navy declared open for community use

Two (02) Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plants established by the Navy under the Corporate Social Responsibility project, in Ampara District, were declared open for the use of people, on 24th July 2020.

Accordingly, these RO plant systems were installed at Sangamam Al-Mina College in Pothuvil and at Selvapuram village in Komari area, making use of the Navy’s manpower and funds of the Ministry of Heath, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, in a bid to quench the drinking water requirement of the people in these areas. District Secretary-Pothuvil, Commander Southeastern Naval Area, officers and sailors attached to the Command, staff of Al-Mina College and residents of the area were present on the opening ceremony.

As a partner of the national programme on Prevention of Chronic Kidney Disease, SL Navy is determined to install more RO plants to provide pure drinking water for the people.
