Ex P 419 developed into floating damage control simulator

Having developed into a floating damage control platform, the ex P 419 craft, which had already been cast aside from operational service, was handed over for the training purposes of the 4th Fast Attack Flotilla on 05th August 2020. The simple ceremony held in a bid to mark this occasion was presided over by Commander Eastern Naval Area.

Fulfilling a long-felt requirement of the Navy, the development of this new floating damage control simulator was finally materialized largely thanks to the engineering excellence of naval personnel attached to the Commodore Superintendent Dockyard (E). The modified facility will henceforth be used to simulate real-time damage control and firefighting training exercises for SLN personnel, to hone their skills further.

The event held at the workshop pier, SLN Dockyard also saw demonstrations of damage control, causality evacuation and firefighting exercises. Meanwhile, Flag Officer Commanding Naval Fleet, Deputy Area Commander, Commanding Officer 4th Fast Attack Flotilla, Departmental Heads and officers attached to the Commodore Superintendent Dockyard (E) were present on this occasion.
