Navy-built RO plant vested in the general public

Being one of the forerunners in the national effort in eradication of the chronic kidney disease from the country, Sri Lanka Navy established its 758th Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant at Panama today (07th August 2020).

The project that got off the ground under the auspices of Ministry of Health and Indigenous Medical Services saw the construction of a new RO plant at the Sri Bodhirukkarama Viharaya with able expertise and manpower of the Sri Lanka Navy. Meanwhile, the new facility will provide safe drinking water for the students of Panama Maha Vidyalaya as well as the residents in the locality, fulfilling a long-felt requirement of them.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Commander Southeastern Naval Area with the attendance of religious dignitaries of the Sri Bodhirukkarama Viharaya, Commanding Officer of SLNS Mahanaga, sailors, students of Panama Maha Vidyalaya and residents of the area.
